NASHUA -- Alyson Pitman Giles will address the graduates at Rivier College's 73rd annual Commencement on May 10.

Her speech, "Ethics, Citizenship, and Protégéship," will share life lessons with humor for emerging professionals. She will address an anticipated audience of 3,000 and be awarded an honorary degree.

Giles is the president and chief executive officer of CMC Healthcare System, which includes Catholic Medical Center, a 330-bed acute-care hospital, the New England Heart Institute, and several subsidiaries, including physician practices and an ambulatory surgery partnership with 30 surgeons.

Giles received her bacherlor's degree from Tufts University in 1977 and her master's degree from Southern New Hampshire University in 1988. She was named "New Hampshire's Most Remarkable Woman in Healthcare" in 2002 by NH magazine, "Distinguished Citizen of the Year" for 2002 by the Daniel Webster Boy Scout Council, and "NH Business Leader of the Year" in 2005 by Business New Hampshire magazine. also declared one of the top 25 Women in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare magazine in 2007.

Rivier's Commencement will take place at 10 a.m. under a tent on the athletic field. President William Farrell will award degrees to students from Rivier's two schools -- the School of Undergraduate Studies and the School of Graduate Studies.
